This policy explains what personal data EuroPriceCheck collects, why, and what rights you have. It describes only what this website actually does. EuroPriceCheck has no user accounts, no registration, no comments, no newsletter and no on-site analytics or advertising trackers.

2. What we collect
2.1 Server logs
Like almost every website, our hosting infrastructure records technical access logs. These may include your IP address, the date and time of the request, the address of the page requested, the referring address, and your browser and operating system identification (user agent).
These logs are generated automatically by the server. We use them to keep the site available, diagnose faults and protect against abuse. We do not use them to build a profile of you and we do not combine them with any other data.
2.2 Email correspondence
If you email us, we process the content of your message, your email address and any other details you choose to include, in order to answer you. We do not use your address for marketing and we do not add it to any mailing list.
2.3 What we do not collect
- We do not operate user accounts, registration or login for visitors.
- We do not run comments, forums or user-generated content.
- We do not run a newsletter or send marketing email.
- We do not use Google Analytics or any comparable on-site analytics or advertising tracker.
- We do not display third-party advertising banners.
- We do not sell personal data to anyone.
3. Cookies
EuroPriceCheck does not set advertising or analytics cookies of its own. WordPress, the software this site runs on, may set strictly necessary cookies for administrator sessions; these are not set for ordinary visitors browsing the site.
Cookies set after you click an offer link are a separate matter. See section 4.
4. Affiliate links and AWIN
EuroPriceCheck is an affiliate publisher. Links to retailer offers are affiliate links, marked in the page code with rel="sponsored nofollow". We may earn a commission if you buy after clicking one, at no extra cost to you.
Most of our outbound offer links are served through the affiliate network AWIN (Awin AG / Awin Ltd). When you click such a link:
- your browser passes through an AWIN redirect before reaching the retailer,
- AWIN and/or the retailer may set their own cookies or use comparable technologies to attribute the visit and any resulting purchase,
- that processing happens on AWIN and retailer systems, under their own privacy policies, not under ours,
- we receive only aggregated commission reporting; we do not receive your name, address, payment details or the contents of your basket.
If you do not want that to happen, do not click through the offer links, or clear or block cookies in your browser before doing so.
AWIN privacy information: awin.com/gb/privacy. The retailer you land on will have its own privacy policy, which applies to everything you do on their site.
5. Legal basis for processing
- Server logs and site security — our legitimate interest in operating and protecting the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Email correspondence — our legitimate interest in answering enquiries addressed to us, and, where your message concerns a possible or existing agreement, the performance of that agreement (Art. 6(1)(f) and Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- Affiliate attribution by AWIN and retailers — carried out by those companies as separate controllers on their own legal bases, described in their policies.
6. Who receives your data
We do not sell or trade personal data. Data may be handled by the following categories of recipient, only to the extent needed to run the service:
- Hosting provider — home.pl S.A., which operates the servers and generates the technical logs described above.
- Email provider — the operator of our contact mailbox, which stores messages you send us.
- Affiliate network — AWIN, in relation to clicks on affiliate links, as a separate controller.
- Public authorities — only where we are legally required to disclose information.
Our hosting and mail infrastructure is located within the European Economic Area. Where any recipient processes data outside the EEA, that transfer is governed by that recipient’s own safeguards, such as European Commission standard contractual clauses.
7. How long we keep it
- Server logs — retained for the period applied by our hosting provider for technical and security purposes, typically no longer than 12 months, then deleted or anonymised.
- Email correspondence — kept for as long as needed to deal with the matter, and afterwards for as long as required to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, or to meet accounting obligations where a business relationship arose.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access your data and obtain a copy,
- have inaccurate data corrected,
- have your data erased, where the conditions for erasure are met,
- have processing restricted,
- data portability, where applicable,
- object to processing based on our legitimate interest, on grounds relating to your particular situation.
To exercise any of these rights, email contact@europricecheck.com. We will respond within one month.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Poland this is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych), ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warsaw.
9. Is providing data required
Browsing the site requires no personal data from you beyond the technical information your browser sends automatically. Providing an email address is voluntary and only necessary if you want a reply from us.
10. Automated decision-making
We do not carry out automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal effects concerning you.
11. Links to other websites
This site links to retailer websites and to the affiliate network. Once you follow such a link you are on a third-party website, governed by that operator privacy policy and cookie practices. We have no control over, and take no responsibility for, how those websites handle your data. We recommend reading the policy of any site before providing personal information to it.
12. Changes to this policy
If the way the site works changes, this policy will be updated and the date at the top revised. Material changes will be visible on this page.
